Peace Over Violence, (formerly LACAAW), established in 1971 by pioneering feminist activists, is a sexual and domestic violence, stalking, child abuse and youth violence prevention center headquartered in Los Angeles and dedicated to building healthy relationships, families and communities free from sexual, domestic and interpersonal violence.

Miss R’evolutionaries is a California-based group formed with the primary purpose of ensuring that the voices and values of women are heard and respected in all aspects of our society. They seek to promote and protect the interests and values of women and to ensure that equity for all is once again made a legislative priority across the United States.

Half the Sky is a movement springing from the book and later documentary of the same name by journalists Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn. They shed light on injustices against women around the world and work to bring solutions. Our favorite part of the site is the Buy for Good section where you can shop for gifts made by/supporting oppressed/recovering women around the world.

Girls Fight Back, founded by Erin Weed is on a mission to empower women and girls through speaking engagements.

Miss Representation is an inspired organization behind the documentary of the same name exposing the media bias against women that still exists. The group behind the powerful #NotBuyingIt hashtag, they have weekly actions that you can take to raise awareness and fight sexism every day.
