Programs Overview

IMPACT courses address situations ranging from the day-to-day boundary violation to the worst-case scenario of actual assault. Our classes set up safe simulations reproducing what happens in the “real world.” We feel it is essential to provide scenarios that are realistic in order to teach students to protect themselves in a realistic fashion.

Believe it or not, we give you the tools NOT to fight. With the belief that physical fighting is always a last response, we stress teaching and practicing verbal strategies. Many people are nervous to say the wrong thing and this stress is compounded during adrenaline-fueled situations. We teach students to think through that stress and practice strategies to access the right things to say. People say the verbal drills are the often the most challenging part of class.

Of course, we teach students how to kick some butt, should their lives depend on it. Using an integrated mix of fighting and talking, our classes are engaging and hands-on. Classes are fluid, interactive and supportive. Anyone can take IMPACT. We’ve adapted to teach young, old, blind, deaf, mute, physically challenged…we can find a way to teach you! We see beyond the limitations of our clients.

At IMPACT we have a strict, no-contact policy with students and instructors. We feel this helps to promote a safer space to learn. Through our instructors’ interactions with students, we create a healthy dynamic between men and women. We demonstrate the world we want to see. That is part of the program design – not accidental!
