IMPACT programs have been fortunate to have students of varied ethnic, racial, religious and cultural backgrounds. Our staff is diverse and reflects the make-up of the communities where we teach. Over the years, students have educated us about how violence has affected their communities; how silent many cultures have been (and still are) about the issues of domestic violence and sexual assault; and how violence persists in same sex relationships. Our goal is to understand and address violence as it affects people in our society with an open mind and a sensitivity to various social and cultural differences.
