What would you do if you found yourself in a violent situation? We know this is a scary prospect to consider, but the reality is you are the only one who can protect yourself. This kind of self-reliance can seem scary to many people—especially women—who do not believe that they would know what to do to protect themselves.
WE KNOW THAT YOU CAN DEFEND YOURSELF,
EVEN IF YOU DO NOT.
IMPACT exists because one in three women worldwide will be assaulted in her lifetime . After the IMPACT training, that number drops to one in thirty and those who are assaulted report successfully defending themselves in the situation and living to tell about it.
Once you experience for yourself what it feels like to fight for your life and to conquer that little voice telling you, “you can’t do it,” you’ll understand the passion we have for our work and how gratified we feel when students show us that “yes, they can,” and “yes, they do.”
We teach a full-force, full-contact self defense training system using real life situations. Combining the expertise of martial artists with research taken from both victims and perpetrators of violent crimes, IMPACT coursework has grown out of over two decades of first-hand experience teaching personal safety. Our highly developed program is designed to provide our students with realistic and useful fighting skills for themselves.
What you can expect from IMPACT:
• Learn to defend yourself in common assault scenarios ranging from subtle harassment to actual physical violence
• Full-contact, full-force interactive fights with a thoroughly padded mock assailant Overcome the common “freeze
response,” and manage fear and anxiety during intimidating situations
• Redefine what it means to be aware of your surroundings, the choices you make about personal safety, how you speak to
people, and how you allow people to speak to you
• Start setting healthy boundaries and ask for what you want in your personal relationships as well as with strangers
• Tools and skills to help conquer fears associated with verbal and physical confrontations
• Become empowered, confident, and learn to stand up for yourself
IMPACT classes give you the opportunity to clearly identify how you naturally respond in any given situation. We provide you with the emotional, verbal and physical tools that allow you to examine your interactions with other people and identify what works for you.
